Air India To Launch Nonstop Flights Between Delhi And Lagos Starting February

Indian Embassy in Nigeria made an announcement on Twitter last January 12, 2021, about Air India's expected schedule of DEL-LOS-DEL flights.

A flag carrier of India has advertised new flights from New Delhi to Lagos under a bilateral aviation agreement. The agreement aims to strengthen the bond between Nigeria and India. Amidst the current crisis, Air India released the first batch of direct-operated flights. Starting February and March, Air India will launch nonstop flights from New Delhi to Lagos and vice versa.

The Air Bubble Agreement established the following categories of travelers for flights operating between Nigeria and India:

India to Nigeria:

Stranded Nigerian citizens/residents, foreign citizen Africa bound and transporting through Nigeria. Spouses of persons mentioned, whether an accompany or otherwise.
Indian national holding a valid Nigerian visa of any type and traveling to any country in Africa. The airline would be responsible for further travel restrictions for any Indian nationals.
Seamen of foreign nationalities or seamen with valid Indian passports are allowed for entry provided they obtain clearance from the Ministry of Shipping.

Nigeria to India:

Indian citizens/residents stranded in any country in Africa
All Overseas nationals of India (OCI) holding valid Nigerian passports
Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) holding valid passports issued by any country in Africa are eligible for entry. MHA updated guidelines as of 39.06.2020 states who are eligible to enter India.
Foreigners and diplomats holding valid visas issued by an Indian Mission are eligible for entry. MHA updated guidelines as of 39.06.2020 states who are eligible to enter India.
