Advisory: Travel and Visa restrictions related to COVID-19 All existing visas issued to citizens of any country except those issued to Diplomatic Officials, UN/International organizations, Employment, Project visas stand suspended till April 15, 2020, and the rest of all visa categories will be suspended for a month to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13, 2020, at the port of departure of any foreigner for onward journey to India.
All the nationals of Chinese, Hong Kong, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Japan and other foreign nationals who have travelled to these countries who are granted any kind of visa (regular visa, sticker visa, e-visa or Visa on arrival) that were issued before 03.03.2020 and have not entered the territory of India yet, are informed that the visa stand suspended with immediate effect. These foreign nationals are restricted to enter India by any icp be it air, land or sea. They are suggested to seek a fresh visa from the nearest Indian Embassy /Consulate if the reason for them to enter India is urgent.
Besides, regular visas, sticker visas, e-visa or Visa on arrival issued to Chinese nationals before 05.02.2020 were suspended and remain in action. The Chinese nationals are not allowed to enter India by any means of air, sea or land. If the reason for such nationals is necessary or urgent, they are advised to apply for a fresh visa by contacting the nearby Indian Embassy /Consulate.
Any passenger who is an Indian national or any foreign national who is arriving directly or indirectly from China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan are compelled to undergo medical screening at all ports.
