Documents Required for Indian e-Business Visa

The following are the Indian e-Business Visa requirements -

  • A clear and coloured scanned copy of the Passport of the traveler in PDF, JPG or PNG format with not more than 3 MB of size.
  • A Business card / Visiting card of the traveling person
  • A letter from the India Company which justifies the purpose of travel.
  • A recently taken passport-sized photograph of you. It is recommended you take it on a white background and its size should be a maximum of 3MB to be able to upload it successfully.

Indian e-Business Visa Fees

You need to pay two types of fees for Indian Business e-Visa, Indian Government e-Visa Fee and Visa Service Fee. Service fee is charged for processing your visa and ensuring that you get your e-Visa as quickly as possible. The government fee is charged by the policy of the Government of India.

It is important to note that both India e-Visa service fees are non-refundable as it is for the processing of the application form. As such, in case you make a mistake in the application process and your e-business visa is rejected, you will have to pay the same fee for reapplication. Therefore, be keen as you fill in the details and follow all the instructions.

Entry ports

The Indian e-Visa entry is only valid through 28 designated Airports and 5 designated seaports.

FAQs:

Indian E-Business Visa is an electronic travel permit for foreigners. It is applicable for visitation related to commerce, trades, training, or any other business activities. It authorized several nationalities for multiple entries within 180 days by applying online. Indian E-Business Visa has a one-year validity from the date of approval.

Note: Applicants cannot transfer, convert or change their Indian E-Business Visa to other types of travel permit. If the stay gets extended and exceeds the 180 days, foreigners have to FRRO/FRO (https://indianfrro.gov.in) two weeks before their visa expiration date. E-Business Visa is different from an employment visa. The latter requires a regular visit to an embassy. The Government of India reinstated the acquisition of Business E-Visa last March 30, 2021.

There are more than 150 nationalities who can qualify for Indian E-Business Visa. Applicants can check their eligibility on India’s commercial website. (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/) Non-Indian travelers may apply for Indian E-Business Visa for the following reasons:

Diplomatic, Official Passport Holders, Laissez-passer, or international travel document holders are not eligible for Indian E-Business Visa.

Note: Due to the ongoing COVID travel bans and restrictions, India has yet to resume international flights. The government recommends travelers check local advisories to be compliant with the most current updates.

If the applicant is from the list of eligible countries, the application process is one-hundred percent online. Visiting the nearest Indian Consulate or embassy is not necessary. Eligible foreigners may submit their applications by filling out the form electronically and submit the documents in the portal. The applicant will get their ETA through their registered e-mail address once it gets approved.

Foreign applicants may apply online four to five business days or four months in advance from the date of their departure flight.

Applicants must have the following requirements when applying for Indian E-Business Visa:

  • I. Applicants must have a clear scan and recent copy of their passport in a standard format (PDF, PNG, or JPG), and the file should not exceed 3 MB. Passport must be valid six months after arrival in India and has two blank visa stamp pages.
  • II. Applicants must have a business card or a recommendation letter from the company to support the purpose of their visit.
  • III. A recent digital passport-sized photograph on a white background and should not exceed three MB.
  • IV. Foreigners must have return tickets and proof of financial stability during their stay in the country.

  • Applicants under Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) must provide a copy of the sanction order and synopsis of the courses.

The Indian E-Business Visa processing cost may vary from time to time. The fee is non-refundable whether the application gets approved or declined. Applicants should thoroughly review their applications before they submit them. In case that there are crucial mistakes on the form, the system may recommend submitting another application with the same fee. Applicants may settle the processing fee using their debit card, credit cards, or payment wallet.

The system may take seventy-two hours to process and verify the information. The immigration recommends foreigners to give a day or two as a leeway to avoid discrepancies. The applicant will get notified through their registered e-mail address if the application is successful.
