Covid-19 Update : Government of India suspended most visas ( sticker / e-visa ) of all countries citizens for next 30 days.

The increasingly rising cases of coronavirus globally, India has announced that all visas suspended, except the few categories, will be suspended for a month until 15 April 2020 or further notice to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

As the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the Covid-19 outbreak a pandemic with more than 126,000 confirmed cases around the world and 4,291 deaths in 114 countries and as countries worldwide clamber up to contain the spread of the Covid-19. India’s count of infected people with coronavirus touches  73 with no confirmed deaths so far from the disease.

Indian all visas India tourist visa, India business visa, India conference visa, India medical visa, India Medical Attendant Visa all types of visas suspended & canceled for all countries due to COVID-19. those who have already implemented India e-visa and searching for a refund. There is no update yet about the refund of the visa fee form the Indian Government. It is not known whether the Indian government will give a refund or not, the government is working on it. And the government decision is still pending for the next two weeks & they will decide what to do?.

 

India Visa Refund or Visa Cancellation in India

As visa fees are non-refundable in any condition still many kinds of situations will happen on pandemic... 

  • Maybe Indian Visa fee will get refunded if the government makes any provision in the next few weeks.
  • Granted visa would be extended for free to travel in India. 
  • Or the government  may allow you to apply again for a visa again without paying visa fees.

No one knows what could happen.

 

Exempt categories: Visas issued to Diplomats, Officials, UN/International organizations, Employment, Project visas remain in force exempt from the current restrictions. And

  • Visas of all foreigners already in India remain valid. They may contact the nearest FRRO/FRO through e-FRRO module for extension/conversion of their visa or grant of any consular service if they choose to do so.
  • Visa free travel facility granted to OCI card holders shall be kept in abeyance till April 15, 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on March 13, 2020 at the port of departure of any foreigner for onward journey to India.
